عَنِ
الْمُجْرِمِينَ
41. ...about the malefactors.
مَا
سَلَكَكُمْ
فِي
سَقَرَ
42. "What set you in Saqar?"
قَالُوا
لَمْ نَكُ
مِنَ
الْمُصَلِّينَ
43. They said, "We were not of the praying (ones)."
وَلَمْ
نَكُ
نُطْعِمُ
الْمِسْكِينَ
44. "And we were not feeding the needy."
وَكُنَّا
نَخُوضُ
مَعَ
الْخَائِضِينَ
45. "And we were immersing with the immersed."
وَكُنَّا
نُكَذِّبُ
بِيَوْمِ
الدِّينِ
46. "And we were belying in the Day of Requital..."
حَتَّى
أَتَانَا
الْيَقِينُ
47. "...until arrived (to) us did The Certainty."
فَمَا
تَنفَعُهُمْ
شَفَاعَةُ
الشَّافِعِينَ
48. So it benefits them not, the intercession of the
intercessors.
فَمَا
لَهُمْ
عَنِ
التَّذْكِرَةِ
مُعْرِضِينَ
49. So what is with them (that), from the reminder, they are
averted?
كَأَنَّهُمْ
حُمُرٌ مُّسْتَنفِرَةٌ
50. As if they are rushing donkeys,
فَرَّتْ
مِن
قَسْوَرَةٍ
51. ...fleeing from a lion.
بَلْ
يُرِيدُ
كُلُّ
امْرِئٍ
مِّنْهُمْ
أَن
يُؤْتَى
صُحُفاً
مُّنَشَّرَةً
52. Rather, each individual from them wants to be given
displayed sheets.
كَلَّا
بَل لَا
يَخَافُونَ
الْآخِرَةَ
53. Nay! Rather, they fear not the later (life).
كَلَّا
إِنَّهُ
تَذْكِرَةٌ
54. Nay! Assuredly it is a reminder.
فَمَن
شَاء
ذَكَرَهُ
55. So whoever wills, remembers it.
وَمَا
يَذْكُرُونَ
إِلَّا
أَن
يَشَاء
اللَّهُ
هُوَ
أَهْلُ
التَّقْوَى
وَأَهْلُ
الْمَغْفِرَةِ
56. And they remember not, except that Allah wills; He is the
Holder of veneration and the Holder of forgiveness.
