And surely We have truly provided you seven of the reiterations, and the Grand Quran. - Surat Al-Hijr (v. 87)

(56) Al-Waqi'a: The Befalling

سورة الواقعة

أَفَبِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ
81. So is it of this narrative you are patronizing?

وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ
82. And you make (for) your provision that you belie.

فَلَوْلَا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ
83. So then, when it reaches the throat...

وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنظُرُونَ
84. ...and you are then looking...

وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ
85. ...We are then nearer to him than you, but you sight not.

فَلَوْلَا إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ
86. So then, if you were not indebted...

تَرْجِعُونَهَا إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
87. ...return it, if you were ever truthful.

فَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ
88. As for if he were from the (ones) drawn near...

فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّةُ نَعِيمٍ
89. ...then rest, and a balm, and the Garden of Comforts.

وَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ
90. And as for if he were from the Companions of the Right (side)...

فَسَلَامٌ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ
91. ...then peace to you from the Companions of the Right (side).

وَأَمَّا إِن كَانَ مِنَ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ الضَّالِّينَ
92. And as for if he were from the deviant beliers...

فَنُزُلٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ
93. ...then a hostel of scalding water...

وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ
94. ...and roasting in an inferno.

إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ الْيَقِينِ
95. Assuredly this is but the right of certainty.

فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ
96. So extol in the Name of your Lord, The Grand.
